Bennington Rescue is located in the Green Mountain region of Vermont.  Our area has many activities including year-round outdoor sports, hiking, boating and much more.  We are minutes from the Berkshire region of Massachusetts, only 1 hour from Albany, NY, and about 3 hours from NYC, Burlington, and Boston. Our crew responds to 911 calls, ALS intercepts, and interfacility transfers.  We are a Gold Plus Mission:Lifeline agency and our crew takes pride in providing quality patient care.

CURRENT OPENINGS:

SUPERVISING EMS OFFICER

(Field Supervisor / Captain) 

The Supervising EMS Officer provides first-line, field supervision to clinical field personnel including EMS Officers (Coordinator and Shift Lead) and patient care. The Supervising EMS Officer I is responsible for assuring adequate resources are available for on-duty crews, facilitating transfer requests, managing the immediate scheduling needs, acting as the lead ICS officer for smaller incidents, and providing guidance, mentoring, and evaluation for field personnel. The Supervising EMS Officer I carries the rank and title of Captain.

The ideal candidate has exceptional communication skills and a passion for patient care.  

Paramedic pay begins at $21 per hour and Supervising EMS Officers receive an additional differential for all hours worked.

 

PREREQUISITES:

  • NREMT Paramedic or ability to obtain (NREMT is required for VT licensure)
  • Possession or commitment to completion of an associate level degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary educational institution within 3 years
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an EMS provider at a similar or higher volume EMS agency
  • Ability to identify and operate at all levels of the incident management system. Possession of NIMS ICS 100, 200, and 300; if a candidate is not is possession of ICS-300, the employee must obtain ICS-300 within 3 months of hire

 

PREFERRED CRITERIA:

  • Critical care paramedic certification (CCEMTP, FP-C, CCP-C)
  • Bachelor or graduate level degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary educational institution
  • 5 or more years of experience as an EMS provider
  • ICS 400

 

This position is full time with benefits and requires working weekends, holidays, and day or night shifts.

Starting in 2018, paramedic pay begins at $21 per hour for entry-level medics.

Bennington Rescue will consider prospective graduates of paramedic programs for early employment.

Bennington Rescue provides an excellent opportunity for EMS providers to utilize their expert knowledge and skills in caring for the highest acuity patients with the greatest needs throughout Southwest Vermont.

Non-Clinical Roles

Our mission focuses on Patient Care, however that is not all that we do. We have a team of Administration, Educators, Billing Specialists, and Customer Service Representatives that ensure that all the necessary functions of the business are operational so that Ambulances are able to provide the services you need. Our billing office provides exceptional service and efficiency in claims billing and reimbursement, and provides billing for other EMS agencies.
